After sending out a questionnaire , I  received the following results. 


1. Age Group


45% of readers are 18-24, indicating strong interest among younger audiences in discovering emerging Kenyan artists.


2. Gender


The audience is 50% male and 45% female, showing a balanced gender engagement with the magazine’s content.


3. Occupation


40% of readers are working professionals, followed by 35% students, suggesting appeal across both employed individuals and students interested in music.


4. Interest in Kenyan Music


A significant 70% are very interested in new Kenyan artists, indicating a strong demand for fresh talent.


5. Preferred Genres


50% prefer Gengetone, and 45% like Afro-pop, suggesting these genres should be prioritized in content.


6. Content Preferences


60% prefer artist interviews, followed by 50% wanting behind-the-scenes content, highlighting the audience’s desire for personal artist insights.


7. Discovery Platforms


60% discover artists on YouTube, followed by 50% on TikTok, emphasizing the importance of video content for artist promotion.


8. Media Consumption


50% prefer a digital magazine, and 45% engage via social media, underlining the need for a strong online presence.


9. Engagement Frequency


45% engage with Kenyan music weekly, while 35% do so daily, indicating consistent content consumption.




These insights suggest that my magazine should focus on engaging a young, digitally-savvy audience interested in Gengetone and Afro-pop, with a strong emphasis on artist interviews and video content.
